Control a Quiet Pony in Company

D+
When you are learning to ride you may learn as part of a group. There are some general rules that should always be applied to riding in the company of other horses. These rules are made to keep you and your horse safe and make sure you do not inconvenience other riders:
  • Always be alert and aware of what is going on around you
  • Particularly be aware of what other riders are doing
  • Where possible, plan where you are going and what you are doing
  • When riding in single file, always keep at least one pony’s length apart to make sure that your pony doesn’t get kicked and that you have enough time to stop without running into the pony in front
