What's Wrong with Minnie?
Hello again,
This week at Pony Club we were learning about the Horse Vet Kit and When To Call The Vet.
First we all looked in our Manual of Horsemanship's and we all talked about horse vets. We had a long discussion about it. We talked about what we knew about vets and we asked Sally lots of questions.
Then we got into pairs and did a "Mini Quiz." I was paired up with Esme. The others pairs were: Jennifer and Natalie Ellie and Katie Sally asked as to name six pieces of equipment in the Horse Vet Kit. Me and Esme did well and we managed to name all six! Sally asked us lots of other questions some were easier than others!
Next we went for our lesson. I was on Minnie! Yippee! I am getting a camera for my birthday this month so I will ask Sally if I can bring my camera into Pony Club so I can take some photos of Minnie and some of the other ponies that I ride on at Wellsfield.
Blythe was our instructor again this week. I wonder what has happened to Fiona. First we walked our ponies around the arena a few times. Then we trotted normally around the arena. Minnie was tossing her head around a bit. She doesn't normally do that so I thought her teeth might need trimming. Next we tried trotting without sttirups. Minnie went well but she was still acting a bit strange and I didn't know why.
Then we tried a canter which I love doing on Minnie. Minnie normally goes into canter straight away but she just went around in trot really fast, I took her around the arena again and she cantered this time. When I had finished cantering Blythe came over to look at Minnie's mouth, it turned out that her bit was under her tounge and someone had tacked her up incorrectly. Poor Minnie. When her bit had been fixed we went round and tried canter again and this time Minnie went perfectly!
After we had all cantered we decided to play a couple of Mounted Games. My favourite thing to do!
The Teams Were:
Me and Jennifer
Esme and Katie
Ellie and Natalie
The Pony Teams Were:
Minnie and Hamish
Fern and T.J
Apache and Ollie.
The first game was bending in trot. Esme and Katie won that game. In the second game we had to trot up to a cone, go round the cone, trot back to our teams, canter back towards the cone, get of our ponies and lead thehad back in hand towards our teams. Esme and Katie won again but it was almost a tie between Ellie and Katie. Blythe told them to race again to see if Ellie could beat Katie but Katie won again. Ellie was so close!
Finally the lesson ended it had been so exciting! I really enjoyed Pony Club this week and Minnie went really well in Mounted Games!
