Libby's First Blog!
Hi everyone!
After just coming out of Winter, Storm is looking very well thanks to the Winter grass at his new home!
At our AGM last week, I was awarded an achievement trophy for passing my B Test with honours last year, which was a lovely surprise! The senior teams were kitted out with new stocks; we have very posh numnahs and cross-country colours on the way soon too, so I can't wait to see us all out in action showing off the new gear!
Last Friday night was our last D+ and C test training session until the Easter Holidays, and this week my mum took the C testers for travelling and feeding, whilst I had the D+'s for points of the pony, colours and markings. Everyone did very well trying not to confuse their flanks with their stifles, whilst the C testers were busy loading Fern, an 18 year old Exmoor, which proved to be a successful challenge! Everyone was definitely ready for a hot chocolate inside and quiz sheets by the end of the practical session!
In other news, Storm has settled in to his new yard very well, where we are extremely lucky to have a floodlit school with jumps (which you can see us testing out in the picture)! Hopefully, now that we have the chance to use an arena reguarly, this will boost our chances in competition this year and allow us plenty of preparation before hand.
With hunter trials and events on the horizon, I will be back soon with updates on how we are getting on!
