Jumping Lesson from Richard Waygood MBE
On Thursday 16th February Bobby and I, Charlotte and Stan, Lydia and Jim and Alice and Cadbury all jumped at Lakeside with Richard Waygood for a lesson on jumping show jumps cross country style.
We started off cantering in a rhythm over poles then starting jumping an upright off a tight angle. The jump got bigger and bigger until it was 2”9 and Bobby was flying over it! We then jumped over a dog leg (which is when you jump a jump, turn on a slight angle and jump a second jump, almost like a wonky double!) and a spread. The horses were jumping very well by then and we finished off with a jump off an angle then a sharp turn and a spread. I was very pleased with Bobby and Richard was amazing!
We finished off by helping Richard adjust the jumps for the other groups and a well deserved cup of tea.
On Sunday 19th February I am going to the Wokingham Pony Club show jumping at BCA so I will blog about that soon!
Bye for now,
