Jessica Prepares for Tests.

Hello again,

I arrived at Pony Club let Sally and Fiona know that I had arrived then as usual I headed round to the Indoor Arena to help the younger group get on their ponies. After that me and the rest of my group went and sat in the tack room with Sally for our Stable Management.

Sally told us that we would be doing our Road Safety Stage 2 in a couple of weeks. None of my group had ever heard of it so Sally explained that it was like a second stage to the Road Rider Mini Achievement Badge we had done before. She said it was a bit harder so we needed to brush up on our Road Safety knowledge. She also said we would probably be doing our D+ test in two weeks so we needed to revise for that as well. WOW a lot of tests!

We also talked about other tests we may be doing in the future and Sally asked if we had any things we would like to do in our meetings at Pony Club. Next we headed round to our lesson.

I was on Apache yippee! I am getting a bit big for Apache now so I take every chance I can to ride on him!

Sally told me she puts me on him because normally the younger groups ride on him and she wants someone to ride him who can show him who's boss! To start of the lesson we trotted round the arena in pairs a couple of times. It was fun and I got a chance to improve my diagonals. Then we did some twenty metre circles in trot. We trotted as a ride and did some twenty metre circles then as well. We did some cantering and everyone did really well. Apache was good in canter sometimes she can go off on the wrong leg but she did well this week.

Then we tried some jumping. At first Apache tried to dodge the jump but I took her round again and this time she was amazing! Everyone did really well! Then it was the end of the lesson none of us wanted it to end but sadly it did. We gave our ponies a big pat and a cuddle then took them round to the yard and untacked them.

I really enjoyed Pony Club this week and I really enjoyed our riding lesson.

Jessica
