Rally with Andrew Hoy

Hi everyone,

Recently I went to BCA (Berkshire’s College of Agriculture) for a special Showjumping rally with Andrew Hoy.

My group included my friends Charlotte on Stan, Natasha on Donald and Lydia on her horse.

We started off by telling Andrew what level we were at with our horses and I was very nervous because he is a famous eventer! He asked us a few more questions and then got us warming up by cantering in a rhythm around a 30 metre circle of poles. Eventually the poles turned into 1”6 cavaletti’s and Andrew helped us to “see a stride”. We finally finished with a small course and Bobby was a star!

I really enjoyed it and Andrew wants to do a cross-country rally with us! I can’t wait! Thank you to Andrew and to BCA for their fab facilities. Also to the mums for their help in setting up courses and making cups of tea.

My next rally is a cross-country clinic with Jonathon Chapman in February and I am really looking forward to it as Bobby is best at cross-country.

Bye for now!

Georgina
