4th Jan - Happy New Year!

I haven't been at Pony Club because I have been ill!

This week at Pony Club not many people were there because it was only one day after Boxing Day!

We all rode in one group because there wasn't enough people for two groups. Sally was on her Christmas Holiday. We had a stand in Instructor instead. Fiona was there too but she didn't have to stay because we didn't need two adults to supervise such a small number of people.

First of all we got into pairs and went to get some ponies that we would need for our riding lesson from the barn. Our group had to go in a three because there was an odd number of people. In my group there was Me, Jennifer and Sophie. We had to get Geo.

First of all we put a headcollar on her and then led her to the yard. We tied her up and then we took of her rug. After that we gave her a quick groom and then we tacked up. Blythe (our stand in instructor) showed us the correct way to put on a bridle and saddle. I learn't some great tips. Then when all the ponies were tacked up and ready to go we headed round for our lesson.

I was on a little pony called Apache! A bit of a change from Geo! Apache is a lovely little skewbald pony he is so cheeky! I was so pleased to be on Apache! Blythe was our instructor for riding as well. We did some basic flat work, we practised going over trotting poles and we learn't some more about trot diagonals. Apache went really well and I really enjoyed riding on him.

Pony Club was really fun and riding on Apache was awesome!

Happy New Year!
