Chloe and Minnie Practise Jumping!

Chloe jumping Minnie Hi!

On Sunday I went for my regular riding lesson. I was given Minnie. I had also had a new teacher because my old teacher left.

We warmed up individually and I could instantly tell that Minnie was going to play up, because he kept napping towards the other ponies. I wasn’t fazed by his attitude because I have ridden him quite a few times, so I was used to it. I got him working alone and soon he stopped being naughty and started paying attention.

We then warmed up over a small crosspole, followed by an upright. Minnie was very slow into these, so I had to “wake him up.” After doing lots of canter – trot transitions Minnie was getting a much better canter into the jumps. We then linked the crosspole – which had turned into a spread – to a gate, which was on a tight turn. Minnie jumped the two jumps beautifully and I was very happy with him.

We then linked the spread, a skinny, a double (which were on a funny line) and then round over an arrow head jump (a block with poles) and then down to the gate. Minnie flew round this course and didn’t catch a single pole! I was very happy and proud. We then linked in a few other jumps, however as I lined up to jump the first jump my stirrup snapped; I pulled Minnie away and I had to miss the course.

I was told by my new riding teacher, who is extremely nice, that next time we have a jumping lesson I can jump a few extra jumps. This seemed like a fair enough deal so I accepted it. I was very happy with Minnie so I gave him lots of pats when he went back into his stables.

Bye for now

Chloe xxx
