Hello readers!

On Thursday I went riding. It was different this time because I have moved up a group. In the lesson there was only two of us; myself and a boy called Peter. Peter was riding Hollie and I was riding Pippin. Hollie and Pippin were both very slow in the lesson and Peter and I have to use our whips several times!!

Peter was quite an experienced rider so he got to canter around the school but as I can’t canter yet I was only able to trot. The first time Peter went round the school in canter I managed to make Pippin come down from trot to walk to halt.

The second time Peter went for a canter, I couldn’t quite get Pippin to listen to me so as you’ve already probably guessed – I cantered as well – it was pretty scary, I was so not ready for it!!!! I was on the edge of flipping – literally!

After that little drama, I managed to calm myself down and carry on with the lesson, Peter didn’t canter for the rest of the lesson but I don’t think he minded because we only had about 10 minutes left of the lesson anyway. Anyway, over all I did actually enjoy the lesson and learnt a lot. Also in the lesson I learnt how to check If the girth needs tightening and how to change it if it did. I am trying to earn my first badge; Badge D.

I can’t wait to go riding next week!
