Hello again,
On Tuesday this week I was at Wellsfield for a whole day! I arrived at the stables at about 10.00am and there were about ten other pony mad girls already there. Kerri and Catherine were supervising us. I didn't really know any of them apart from Esme from my Pony Club. I had seen some the girls around the stables but otherwise I had never met them.
We started of the day by mucking out a few stables. A few people were taking the wheel barrow of dung to the muck heep and it tipped over! Oops! After that we were all put into pairs to groom a pony. I was put with Esme! We had to groom Lexi. Lexi is new to Wellsfield and came about three weeks ago. She is a black and white pony with brown on her nose! Me and Esme got to work and after about half an hour Lexi was gleaming!
After we had filled up some hay nets and mucked out a few more stables it was lunch time. We all really needed a break! I ate my packed lunch in the cafe and then went back round to the yard.
After lunch me and Esme tacked up Lexi and then waited for the others so we could all go on a hack. I rode Lexi first and Esme walked. We went up the track to the Wellsfield Fishery and then we went back to the yard. We just walked because some people with us had just started riding lessons. It took about half an hour. Then it was Esme's turn to ride Lexi and we did the same thing. We got back to the yard un tacked the ponies and put their rugs on. We brushed and clean the yard to get it looking spick and span.
At 2.00pm it was time to go home. Kerri and Catherine gave as us rosettes to say well done! My granny picked me up and drove me home.
At 5.00pm I was back at Wellsfield again for Pony Club! Guess what... Fiona was back! Fiona was teaching us in our riding again. In Stable Management with Sally we all found out we were doing our public speaking badge. Sally wanted us to make Mini Practise talks about our favourite ponies. I wrote all about Minnie. I put that she is a Welsh Section B and she is grey. I put about her personality and her likes and dislikes. Then we had to perform our talks in front of our riding group, lots of people were on holiday so it was just me, Jennifer, Ellie and Sophie. Sophie is from the other riding group but she rode with us today because our group was so small! I volunteered to go first because no one else wanted to and it wasn't that bad! We have to write a talk about one of the Achievement Badges to get our badge and it has to be about two minutes long.
Then Stable Management was finished. We went round for our lesson with Fiona. I was on Morgan. We did some walking and trotting and then we cantered. Morgan did really well and Fiona said it was a fantastic canter transition. Then we tried some jumping in trot and canter. It was really fun and Morgan was fab! Then it was 7.00pm and Pony Club finished.
I had a fab day at Wellsfield on Tuesday and I would like to thank Kerri, Catherine, Fiona and Sally for making it so fun!
